As a consumer protection attorney, we are constantly dealing with consumers who have been sued by a creditor or debt buyer on a defaulted credit debt. But if we look beneath the surface, many times we will find that the consumer has received poor advice from a debt settlement outfit to stop paying the creditor and instead divert those payments to the debt settlement outfit. Why? So the debt settlement outfit can force the creditor into charging off the debt and get the debt into the hands of a junk debt buyer who pays around 4 cents on the dollar and makes it easier for the debt settlement company to get the consumer a better settlement.

What You Will Learn
•    What are the different entities often involved in the debt settlement arrangement.
•    What is a debt settlement scheme structure and how to attack it.
•    What are the various laws that many of the debt settlement outfits violate and how to use those laws to your client’s advantage
